The proper procedure (well, at least one that would have any legal bearings) 
is that you sent David a paper form with your name (as it appears on your 
passport) current postal address, country and email address.  And last the 
year you were born.
Make a statement about your patches and upcoming patches being copyright 
assigned to David. Sign that and sent it via snail mail to David.

I know, lots of work; but thats the way with the law. They need paper trails 
for everything.
