How about this solution, then? - switch the defaults - rename 'query manifest' to 'query list' - add a hidden alias from manifest to list with the current behaviour (for old timers) This fits into a more general UI proposal of 'hidden commands', which lets us have aliases for commands without cluttering up the ui. Hidden commands do not show up in the usage help or documentation, nor can they be abbreviated as with 'w' for whatsnew.
