How about this solution, then? - switch the defaults - rename 'query manifest' to 'query list' - add a hidden alias from manifest to list with the current behaviour (for old timers)
I'd prefer to keep it ``query manifest``, with perhaps aliases for ``query list`` and/or ``query ls``. I don't think ``query list`` is very informative in nature and seems, broadly speaking, just about as redundant as ``query query`` (``query ls`` makes a bit more sense due to it being a common unix tool name, but only by a slight margin). In fact, I'm wondering if ``list`` might instead make a good alias for ``query`` itself: darcs list manifest darcs list tags ... darcs list files darcs list patches since 2005 from an author named "Wunderkind" ordered by number of files modified # darcs needs an NLP-style query language, right? :-P darcs list celebratory wines # just kidding ``list`` and/or ``ls`` are bit kinder to type than ``query``, too. -- --Max Battcher-- http://www.worldmaker.net/ _______________________________________________ darcs-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osuosl.org/mailman/listinfo/darcs-users
