I also had the privy to test ride a 29er while back . Was very nice and
really did handle the rocky stuff better than a 26 . Handling also was not
that bad either it is just a matter of getting use to it and then you can
also do the tight switch backs etc . 29er will come to DH bikes but they
will first need to get a radical frame design to take those wheels but
still keep the amount of travel needed . Not gonna be easy as by default
DH frames are smaller and more compact than XC frames .
