I find that on certain occasions it would be convenient to not have
feathering. Would it be possible to include a 'alt' on/off keystroke
for that situation?

Right. I added a lower limit so that there remains some separation
between feathering border and outline of a path shape. If it's
inconvenient I can alter this behaviour again.
The goal was to prevent the border getting so close that one cannot
grab and increase it again. How do you manage to grow the feathering
area if it is very small?

And one more problem - when equalizer is duplicated, the active tab is
switched to the list of used plugins. What for?
