To make this clear. My point was only to avoid loosing valuable information like geo-tag read from the original image. Nothing confusing from the user point of view as it would work *exactly* as if the geo-tag was removed. Only, in this case it would be possible to restore the image location using this saved location. Another solution is to read this geo-tag information again from the image.
