I was hope to just do the single color overlay to start.
And not worry about overlaying another image until I get that done.

I just figured out how to do what I want with a single color SVG and
the watermark module.

Here's an example of a single color .svg to use

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/Single_Color_Flag_-_990066.svg

However this is a really complicated method to get this done, because
I'd have to make an .svg file for every color I wanted to try instead
of using a color chooser.

Is there anywhere I can get a quick how-to on adding a new module to
darktable src? It would save me some learning curve.

Assuming there is some interest in this functionality.

I can provide some before after examples that could be done with this module.
