FWIW I have (kinda) resolved this. I built a libjpeg-turbo library
without the SIMD code (--without-simd) and made darktable link to it
with LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I ran exports all day, and none failed. I dropped
the hack, and had failures soon enough. So I've at least got a
workaround, though I still can't figure why.
