heya!
thanks for proposing to help out with this!
according to the website, ca was translated by josep puigdemont (you'll
find his email on top of the ca.po file in the git repo).
i don't think it has been touched since 2010, so any updates you can make
will be greatly appreciated.
However, the stuff on that Wiki page is a little old and overly
complicated. So once you start working feel free to ask once something
doesn't work as expected ("git push" won't work for example).

Thanks, Tobias. So far the tutorial on the Wiki works enough for me, I
think.
I sent this morning a pull request with my first corrections to "ca.po",
mainly to test the procedure, and it has ben correctly processed and
merged.
The only issue was sending the commit to my own repository. Git asked me
to setup my name and e-mail prior to accepting the commit. But the error
message already explains haw to proceed. After setting "user.name" and
"user.email" values, the commit has ben processed.
I don't know if "git push" works or not :-?. I do not see any error
message when executing it. My changes have ben sent to my own git fork
of Darktable, and from there, I have been able to send de pull requests
to Darktable main repo.
I will keep working on the translation. But I don't want to waste
developers time with too frequent pull requests.
I have currently revised and fixed existing translations, and now I am
fixing the fuzzy translations (they were more than 500 :-0 ). When done,
I plan to do a second pull request. This will represent roughly 50% of
total translation done.
After that, I plan to complete the remaining missing translations.
And after that, a Catalan version for the user manual will be nice ;-)
I will try.
And thanks for your time and your great work developing Darktable.
