I run openSUSE-Factory KDE 4.2 on a desktop and see no mouse problems but
I do see them on a 15.6" in acer i5 amd laptop, touchpad and usb mouse. I
also have a 17" dell which is rather touchy with the touchpad but
workable. Problem besides double-click rate is the sensitivity for the
toggle for the lower taskbar display is too narrow. I can find it on the
17" but cannot on the 15.6".

Double-clicking is also quite haphazard and not *really* solved by
extending the click-rate.

I also find no package "kde-xsettingsd" available anywhere build for
openSUSE.

To me, the problem noted is *only* on laptops.
And the "problem" is horrific if one is bound to a laptop. I would love a
solution but I personally cannot fathom working any volume of photos on a
laptop. I only carry one traveling for transferring and viewing shots and
reading mail.

And we are *all* guilty of "breaking stuff" :^), it's called progress.

tks,
