known issue for macintosh computers (
http://darktable.org/redmine/issues/10207). our dev team with macintosh
experience is limited (well, it's parafin really), so no idea what's going
on there. also nice how the cairo font is illegibly pixelated on your
expensive retina screen :/

the target space is the full bounding box of the widget, not the 1x1 pixel
triangle. if that is hard to hit for you you're even worse with the mouse
than i am.
