for some reason this (compiling lensfun, then compiling darktable
against it) didn't work for me. Probably some 0.2.8 still hanging around
somewhere. But changing the test to >= didn't change anything either.

Whatever.

Anyway, I don't see any sense in a check on the lensfun version anyway,
so I deleted the #if - #endif and compiled my own version. Everything
works.

Caveat: You have to discard the database and re-import the images for
the exif data to be read anew. Else, you'll have the wrong exif data
still hanging around.

So, this was done with Mint (that ships with the latest Ubuntu LTS
packages) und the stable ppa, only darktable replaced and those two
lines deleted. As this means that everything works just fine even with
lensfun 0.2.8, as long as noone trys to check on the version of lensfun,
i'd strongly suggest that
https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/09bac2436d5cbbc13e71ad8649394bada005a53f
should be rolled back. Unless anyone can explain why it would be better
left in, that is, but I don't see a reason.

I've opened a bug report at http://www.darktable.org/redmine/issues/10239

Cheers,
  Jan Niklas
