We test explicitly for version 0.25:
https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/440257b047ad079ee51061c060209cf8c2cb8578
so just patching a 0.24 version will not work.
I suggest leaving all fedora installed packages untouched and just
installing libexiv2 in /usr/local. That is what I do on Ubuntu:
mkdir libexiv2
cd libexiv2
svn checkout svn://dev.exiv2.org/svn/trunk
cd trunk
make config
./configure
make
sudo make install
You can do the same for lensfun, but that is less important...
If all goes well the /usr/local versions will be used for all software you
compile yourself.
