That CPU usage is normal & intended, you probably want to get those
images ASAP. Processor usage is measured per core, so a dual core can do
200% max. Overheating is not normal on PCs, but it's a common risk on
laptops (they should throttle the processor speed automatically to avoid
it).

If you are on a laptop, see if the cpufreq system (or similar) is
working properly. Otherwise I would check the
CPU/cooling/mainboard/power supply. General idea: exchange one part at a
time until the system is stable.
