Hello Rat, From where did you discover and install darktable? Perhaps it’s as simple as not having the proper file. Did you download from here: http://www.darktable.org/install/ <http://www.darktable.org/install/> ? I run the program with no problem whatsoever on my MacBook Pro (late 2013) currently using El Capitan (v10.11.6). Furthermore, I’ve enjoyed and appreciated the program continuously as far back as when I ran Mavericks. By no means am I a technical expert but, since I’ve got it running, perhaps I can help you to troubleshoot.
