Everything works fine when you use amdgpu and manually install the
OpenCL driver. https://community.amd.com/message/2788134

This works for me in Tumbleweed, rx480

I suppose you used the 17.10 amdgpu-pro package for centOS?
Did it still work without tweaking after the recent Tumbleweed monster
update (around 3500 packages on my computer)?

I used the the package for Suse (Enterprise) and opened/copied the files
with mc. I tested 16.60 and 17.10 to see if the OpenCL performance
differs (I read somewhere that 17.10 has OpenCL regressions). I used the
integrated benchmark of NeatImage v8.2 (there is a demo version) and got
around 15Mpix/sec for both. So, I stayed with (I think) 17.10.

I don't know, what the libGL errors mean...
Everything seems to work. (I ran the big zypper dup last night, so my TW
is up to date)

"Errors" are something which make me nervous on the on the OS I use for work.

My so far successful amdgpu-pro experiment have been run on an test-xubuntu/kubuntu duos on separate partitions.

I have hoped that an able soul would create a repo for openSuse, be it Tumbleweed or Leap 42.x which simply would pull in all necessary changes to use the amdgpu-pro driver.

The positive side: I found out that there is really no big difference in handling of comparable kde/xfce spins of Fedora, openSuse, and Ubuntu with just the ampgpu-driver (without the "pro")
