I once tried to calibrate (characterize ?) the TV I use as a monitor with my 
spyder 2 and couldn't get it work.

I then read a thread pretending that the only way for this was to use a 
specially made probe, the spyder4TV HD.

You mean it can be done with a "normal" calibrating probe ? Or does one need a 
particuliar model ?
