break with the next update. It's a major advantage that the NVidia
driver is available for a number of distributions, including Ubuntu and
Debian...


Of course it is a hack, but easily applied and can also simply be removed. I wonder what disavantages will turn up, beside possible problems with a new kernel?

Let us wait till Fedora 26 comes around and the next Ubuntu LTS.
I have given up hope on openSuse.
