Well that right there is the problem, you can only compile them for
kernel version 4.8 & 4.10 and some cards won't be properly detected with
kernels below 4.11. This is the case for RX550 eg.
Things will get better once all the needed parts are in the mainline
kernel because then you won't need the proprietary drivers anymore,
that's part of the goal of ROCm but we're not there yet.
