Hello, unfortunately I lost the best answer to my post, which I am sending once again. I would expect that when I open a folder in DT, all present photos are shown in the current status (I feel a bit weird writing this, it seems so natural to me...). When I close DT, delete a picture from this folder, open DT and open this folder again, the fphoto should not be visible anymore. Photos added in the meantime should be visible. For me, this is common software behaviour. Somehow, DT database is different, right? What am I actually opening, when "opening a folder"? There is the current opened folder, and something from the history, right?
In the user manual, I read something in chapter 2.2.1 about "film rolls". There we find: "...images already present in the film roll are not touched. It is important to note that importing images in darktable does not involve a physical copy step. Importing a folder into darktable is therefore not a backup operation of that folder." For me that means, that new pictures are added to the film roll, deleted pictures (in the corresponding Windows folder) are not removed automatically from the film roll. I would appreciate that function. The film roll should represent what is in the folder. Or I would like to know how I can actively manage the contents of the film roll. In the answer, which I unfortunately deleted from my inbox and cannot retrieve anymore, I read something about "remove (not delete!) from the folder". I do not understand what this means: which folder, in which environment? Do I remove within DT? Or in the Windows explorer?
