Hi
I now tried:
Copied my DNG to an empty directory.

$ mkdir /tmp/dt
$ darktable --library :memory:

Then I imported the directory which only contained the one DNG. Lens
correction was not applied automatically (no preset).
I opened the lens correction module, the correct lens and camera was
already set.

Then I switched the module on. Corrections were applied, but the scale
remained at 1.000, and I had visible curved, black borders around my image.
I had to press the icon beside the scale, then the scale went to 1.015,
and the borders were gone (image was magnified accordingly).

I have uploaded the DNG to

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KgX8DqfH3k037NG88cBmmHsSf-P6p1tC

There's also the xmp file from my test, and an old xmp for this image
from DT 2.6.

I'd be happy if someone could verify the behaviour. Of course, do not
load the xmp files, to start from a clean import.

Imported your DNG and switched the lens correction on.

All corrections are applied for" smc PENTAX-DA 15mm F4 ED AL Limited" and the scaling applied automatically

with factor 1.014. No black borders.

Do you have the newest  lensfun data?

I think the scaling should be applied automatically when switching on
the lens correction, I almost all cases I can imagine, I'd want the
scaling to be done.

By the way, the same thing (scaling not applied) happens with other
lenses, only it's not that visible, the scaling factor of 1.015 for 15
mm is quite "high", so here the difference really shows.

Best regards,
        Michael
