Thanks to all for checking. Yes, that was it. This mis-versioned package
also seems to be "broken" somehow, or it's not working 100 % with the
lensfun version that was installed in 18.04.
I uninstalled darktable, removed the opensuse repository, and
changed to the ubuntuhandbook repository. This updated lensfun, and then
I installed darktable again, it all works fine now.
Thanks again to all who helped here, sorry for the confusion. Maybe it
would be a good idea to either update the opensuse repository properly,
or remove it. Maybe just newer lensfun libraries have to be added, but
that's just guessing.
