It also depends a lot which nvidia-driver you use. It worked without
problems, when I installed the nvidia-driver during installation, if I
installed it afterwards I got mixed versions.
proprietary driver packaged either from repository or ppa - tested both.
Updated BIOS
used several distris
no effect
now the GPU is just money thrown out of the window :(
