Slightly OT : "Rapid photo downloader" ( Damon Lynch ) - all images in folders by date and image filenames by date, "JobCode" and unique number.  Easiest system I have found.

All of my folders carry the date ... and I generally download daily .... that makes it easy.

Hi,

in my database there are a bunch of pictures missing the "datetime"
information. Unfortunately there is now way I could get the original files.

Is there a way add/change datetime within darktable - have at least the
correct day would be key to filtering by date...

Tobias
I think that's not what Tobias asked for.
As far as I understand he wants to add that information to the files themselves - or at least to the related xmps and database entries.

But - no, I don't have and idea.
I thought of using the timeshift feature for GPS-synchronisation, but this only allows +/-hh:mm:ss - no days or even months or years of offset.

So the only way I'd think it would be possible to solve this is by using something like exiftool _before_ importing to darktable. And yes - this is dangerous as it (in rare cases) might have the potential to corrupt the files.
