It sounds like you used copy and import. That will copy the files to new directory and name it according to options set. One of the option is keep the original name. The fine manual has good description.

Personally, I like the new scheme because it allows me to import from multiple sources for one event.

Looks like you should have used add to library rather than copy and import.

Hi,

Upon upgrading to 3.6 I have now discovered that DT has renamed all of the images in the folder I opened today with 20211029- 1104.CR2.

I have never set that up, I only ever run on the camera images numbers, how else do I get to keep track of the frames so that I can prepare the next prefix in my numbering scheme. The only numbers that matter are from the camera, I can only guess that these renamed images are copied somewhere that DT knows, but why would I want to have two versions of my RAW files.

I am shell shocked and bewildered, why is DT fcking with my Data storage?

I am really distressed, this has been a bad day for me.
