Not to be contrary, but I'd hate it if snapshots became history
entries.  The reason is simple, I don't always think of taking a
snapshot at the right moment, my solution has been to click on the
history line that I want to have a snapshot of (effectively going back
in history), taking the snap, then click on the top of history
(effectively coming back to the present).

You can probably figure how pleased I would be if the above suddenly
destroyed a whole stack of history ;-)
