Thanks for the reply, Ulrich.
I've tried different output colour profiles. Currently RGB (web-safe). Went
with adobe earlier, but colours were off more often than not, in different
programs. Seems more consistent with this.
Actually, I now think my monitor is at least in part to blame. It
auto-adjusts both brightness and contrast --- this "feature" can't be
turned off. :( Usually it isn't a problem, but maybe because of the 'd' in
dt:s interface theme/looks, it increases richness of colours and brightness
too much. So when I think the pictures are OK, and export, they're actually
underexposed and quite dull, when opened in a different (not-so-dark)
application.
In fact, quickly switching from the image having been opened in "a bright
application" to the image in dt actually shows it as underexposed and
dull, too. This has lead to many a-headscratchings; was I just tired
yesterday? Did I really develop the picture so badly yesterday, etcetera.
I've tried every setting on the monitor --- the autoadjustment can't be
turned off. I don't think X can do anything about it either. Currently
trying setting overall brightness (screen-setting) really low. But there's
maybe nothing much else that can be done than replacing the physical screen.
Kind regards,
Kristian
