I have to comment on this usecase. Tiff is in my opinion the only way
to save a lossless image with exif data. Exif data is important
to keep in the workflow when using multiple image programs.
You can say whatever you want about tiff but it is as ancient as jpg
and this issue is important to solve.
Looks like the libtiff library need an update?
