A few years ago I invested in an AMD Phenom X3, with 8GB of RAM, and
Darktable flies, until I try to use JPGs, which seem to use 20x more ram
than raws for processing, unless I'm doing exports. A 64bit operating
system is a must. I would suggest to you, get a quad or hex core, when I'm
running processing heavy operation Darktable loves the extra power.
