This was exactly what I was going on about when I was suggesting the UI
tweaks some time back. LR is just a lot more efficient, despite having
lower control over adjustments. I'm not looking to reduce darktable's
functionality by dumbing it down, but efficiency should not be forsaken
over pure functionality.
With darktable, users have to spend more time to produce a reasonable
looking image, compared to Lightroom. This has nothing to do with the look
of the image that Lightroom or darktable can produce; I'm talking about
producing a baseline usable image, regardless of trying to reproduce what
another program does. This can be improved, and I'm hoping there's a way to
do it without sacrificing the overall functionality or performance of
darktable.
