Another alternative is using the blend-if on the zone if it can be "selected" based on the lightness, the saturation or the color. Another option is for example, if you want to lighten up a red box on the picture and that it is the only object with red color you can use the color zone module. Just move-up the lightness curve in the red zone. Hope all this makes sense to you.
