Personally I've used the darktable hot pixel module before, and while it
does work, it does not remove hot pixels as effectively as RAWTherapee's
hot pixel module. I'm not trying to start a software war here, but I think
if the hot pixels aren't too bad, you can just ignore them or use the
darktable hot pixel module. If the hot pixel problem is very bad, you can
try downloading RAWTherapee just to apply the hot pixel removal, then
export it as a tiff or something to import into DT to do other processing
stuff.
