documented problem
From the web it appears that Arch have already patched to offending exo
but the patch has not fully migrated yet. So for Arch users it works
....... for the rest of us we need patience.

It's supposed to export the image(s) selected in light table and add
them as attachment in your default email client.
In Linux it uses xdg-email.
Try running darktable in a terminal, repeat the export and see if you
get some information. Which operating system are you running?
