PSD are not supported.

There was a bug with IPTC data being assigned as tags. Do your TIFF files have 
IPTC metadata embedded?

At least the "darktable|format|*" tags should be added for NEFs, too.

To be honest I never tried to use so many tags (even if they were just added 
due to a bug) so I can't tell if that's an expected slowdown or something
