I am not sure about that. I also have a D7100 for soccer with a TC-14E II
and an 80-400 V2 and carry a D3 w/70-300 for closer.
I think the answer is totally yes.
Here's an extract of lensfun database 0.2.8 (file
/usr/share/lensfun/slr-nikon.xml):

Basically, you see that the main information regarding cameras is the
crop factor, and the mount type (presumably to only display relevant
lenses in menu).
Some other /camera/ informations in lensfun include localized camera
names (English, Russian) and variant (16:9, 4:3 modes).
