1) When I like camera output I use camera JPEG. :) Jokes aside, it
would be an interesting project to have some software that would take
corresponding raw file and JPEG from camera and figure out a
color/curves/etc. profile and lens correction.

2) That looks like Lightroom's adjustment brush and graduated filter.
I'd expect this to require a big rework but it makes sense to me: draw
a mask and then apply modules to it.
