Hi Rob:
1) It would be nice to be able to use certain Nikon Picture Style settings
(even if approximate) as a starting point when editing a Nikon RAW file. I
would be especially interested in the Portrait Picture Style. Sometimes I
shoot RAW+JPG and I notice that such a Picture Style does a fairly good job
for portraits. I would not like to start editing JPG files instead of RAW
files, but it would be nice to be able to use such a setting as a starting
point.
2) I typically select a drawn mask and only then change the module
parameters. That sequence seems natural to me since it allows me to see the
changes made only in the image area marked by the mask. Nonetheless, when
using a module preset I need to reverse the order: first apply the preset
(e.g., the clarity subtle preset in the equalizer module) and only then
specify the drawn mask. I would rather be able to always use the same
sequence (first specify the mas, then make the changes -- regardless of
whether or not via module presets). Let me give you an example. I created a
preset in the contrast/brightness/saturation module that whitens teeth. As
it is, I need to apply the preset to the entire image and only then specify
the drawn mask (which is drawn over the model's teeth).
Best, F.
