Probably, the OP is hoping for stuff like how to include a vocabulary,
how to handle it, how one can get keyword chains working if there's
something like keyword groups (automatically assign a bunch of kws in
one go; can be faster to delete some after that) and some hidden tricks
how to work effectively with what one can spot at first glance.

I was also searching where IPTC has gone and especialy location
information there (location, sublocation, country, city e.g.) dt is so
much better in all other areas that you really think you missed the
hidden manuals when it comes to metadata.

Just to encourage you to have a look at those modules. Would be greatly
appreciated!

This sounds good :)

Depends. Some image tools also store sidecars for jpg and whatnot. I
think dt does as well if you ingest jpg instead of raw (ok, doesn't make
too much sense.)

But the point might be, that you probably want to clean some metadata
fields in certain exports and/or make sure that certain fields is not
passed on even though you store them locally for your data. An address
field if you post something on the wild web might be an example. Or a
(geo)location. Think of wildlife photography of some rare species e.g.

Thats a real dealbreaker, unfortunately. Searched this myself for quite
some time and reverted back to holding metadata outside of dt. Even if I
have nearly 100% geocoded stuff these fields are really missing.

... unfortunately ...
