Have you had a look at the provided screenshot, linked below? It shows the red rectangles, indicating a good focus, all over the image. The keyboard shortcuts can be looked up or modified in the settings > shortcuts > views > lighttable. This feature is not meant to replace human recognition, it can help identifying good or bad images by pointing at relevant parts of the image. I'm nut sure this is a bug, but could be.
