Sometime I also wonder this. In my big 24" screen I have no problem, but 
lately I need to use my short-distance glasses to work with DT on my 
laptop, which has a 15" screen. I would like to have a bit more contrast 
there; sometime I find difficult to discern if some toggle is on or not 
(the "G" anyone?).

On the other hand, to assess the quality of the photos, I also need the 
glasses... so maybe it's right that if you can't see the interface, 
probably you can't see the details in your photo either.

I don't know. A bit more possibility to configure the ui would be nice, 
yes. I do not know if the complexity and/or burden to maintain will 
justify it.
