I also use a 27 inch screen, Samsung (inexpensive), and set
screen_dpi_overwrite=88 (80 is nominal).  It is small but is legible and
the module buttons are a bit larger.  I experimented with up to 100 but
value the screen real-estate more.  In dt mode I even close the left,
upper and lower panels and reduce the size of the right panel to maximize
image display.

I have not noticed any effect on the images.
