Hello All,

I am just learning about processing raw files in general and how to do
it in Darktable in particular. I'm very happy with the results for a
lot of my pictures and would like to thank the developers for making
this excellent software.

Unfortunately I am having a problem with the pictures which obviously
need noise reduction. When I click to apply "denoise (profiled)" the
results look good. However, if I leave the image and then return to it
the noise is back though I still see "denoise (profiled)" as active in
the history. The noise is also there when I export the pictures. If I
deactivate/reactivate the module or reset the parameters the picture
clears up again, but this is still only temporary. As an experiment I
tried adding "denoise (bilateral filter)" and see the same results.

I am running Debian stable but with Darktable, exiv2, and lensfun built
from source because I could not get my camera and lens to be recognized
with the prebuilt packages. I built from
    * darktable-release-1.6.8.tar.gz
    * exiv2-0.25.tar.gz
    * lensfun-0.3.1.tar.gz
and my camera is a Sony A6000 using the kit lens
    * ILCE-6000
    * E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS.
I have tried with and without OpenCL and saw no difference.

Is there something obvious that I could be doing wrong? Please let me
know if there is some other information I can supply.

Thanks,

--
Scott
