Hello!

I'm using a very useful timelapse controller (named Ramperpro from
ElysiaVisuals, based on a RaspberryPi if I'm correct). The general idea is that
it takes full control of the camera but above all it generates a sidecar xmp
file with an exposure correction included for each picture taken. That way,
when all the pictures are exposure-corrected the transition from one to the
next is smooth, which suppresses any flickering in the resulting timelapse.
Until now, I've been using AftershotPro to do this because the developper of
the Ramperpro was kind enough to include this option in the firmware: with the
option on, an xmp "Bibble Labs and AftershotPro" -compatible sidecar file is
created alongside the Lightroom-compatible sidecar file (which I discarded).
Good.
Now I want to use Darktable to do the job, and if I'm not mistaken, one of the
few image operations that Darktable can import from a sidecar file generated by
another program (such as Lightroom) is exposure. I take this information from
here:
http://www.darktable.org/usermanual/ch02s02s08.html.php
But I cannot make it work and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong and if
you could help me. With the links at the bottom of this message you can
download one NEF file and the sidecar Lightroom-compatible xmp file generated
by the Ramperpro. Would somebody be kind enough to try and tell me if the
exposure correction is active once in Darkroom mode? The correction should be
"0.08170" as indicated in the xmp file that I also copy paste here:

<x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Adobe XMP Core 5.5-c002 1.148022,
2012/07/15-18:06:45">
<rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#";>
<rdf:Description rdf:about=""
xmlns:crs="http://ns.adobe.com/camera-raw-settings/1.0/";
crs:Exposure2012="0.08170">
</rdf:Description>
<rdf:Description rdf:about=""
xmlns:lrt="http://lrtimelapse.com/";
lrt:ExternalExposureDefault="0.08170">
</rdf:Description>
</rdf:RDF>
</x:xmpmeta>

I'm wondering if there is a format problem in this file, or if I miss something
in the importing steps in DT, or if I'm stupid, or a bit of everything...

Thanks
denis
