Not unless they are firing tactical nuclear weapons. The M1 has a ~120mm pop
gun - you really need a _long_ range 155mm to fire nukes without getting
toasted (your db crashing is then not a problem then I guess).  
The M1 supposed to be NBC proof (Nuke/Bio/Chem), thus it is supposed to
survive driving about ground that is still glowing - you would then need the
computers to survive a decent EMP. Pity about the crew of course...

I think its probably just a load of bollocks though - why would a tank
require a commercial database? - it would also imply the thing was running
_Windows_.  That would _not_ be a good thing in a 50 tonne monster.
