Hi Rich,
I always TAB delimit exports from DP to Access, Excel etc... You do not
need to worry about quotes and commas at all... I can;t remember if it is
possible to embed tabs in AxAx fields, but keep it in mindc if you do
To create a tab delimited report, create a statard report, put in a header
row in the firsxt page header if necessary, and between each field insert
Alt-009 which will show up in DP as a tiny circle... Set the report print
margins to 0 and the text lines to 0 so that you do not get any embedded
FormFeed characters, which I can tell you will put Access into quite a
tiz...
In Access or Excel (which will probably default to it, specify a tab
delimited report, and whehter there is a header row or not
Regards
Brian

Subject: [Dataperf] Report DOS output
Hi folks,
I am going to be importing into an Access database, using .csv formatted
data. Choices in the import process are between Windows(ANSI), DOS or OS/2
(PC-8), or Mac.
Going to a report in DP, option # 6, Disk File Mode WP/DOS offers either
WP
(4.2) format or DOS. My question is what does this DOS format match?
And possibly related, using Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V to copy and paste between
Eudora and WP loses colons (:). Is this an issue of ANSI vs. DOS? Or
something else entirely.
Rich
