I would like to know whether the following are possible in a DP report
using a subreport:
1. If the subreport prints a field (such as last name field) is it
possible to avoid each instance of the last name being following by a
carriage return (ie each instance of the subreport). So that instead of
printing, eg
Smith
Jones
Adams
Can it print
Smith Jones Adams?
2. When the subreport ends is it possible to avoid the last thing in the
subreport having a carriage return, so that instead of having
[in subreport]Smith has sold 29 units of the product
[in main report]and would now like to sell you some more
Can it print
[in subreport]Smith has sold 29 units of the product [in main report]and
would now like to sell you some more?
I have seen Ralph Alvy's book (on Subreports: going from version 2.2. to
2.3, pages 230-231) about needing to insert carriage returns. As far as
i can tell I have deleted all that are possible to delete, but I cannot
achieve what I want. (Alternatively, if the str file is exported to a
ste and the carriage returns are deleted and then imported back, would
that deal with the above?)
Help with these would be greatly appreciated.
