Thanks for the info. I figured out that this method does not work with DP2.3
so I am upgrading to DP26. Will let you know in a few days how I do. I think
you have solved my problem. Many thanks.

Subject: RE: [Dataperf] Printer Codes

Earl -

Here's one of the help screens from DPSpool, perhaps you didn't see this one
but the documentation is quite good in this program:

Sending Codes to DPSpool:

You send control codes to DPSpool by inserting Printer Control Strings into
your DP reports. To insert a printer control string into a report, press
Ctrl-F7, 1, B while you are in the report editing screen. This presents you
with a field where you can enter the control codes you want to use.

Some characters can be easily entered into this field (such as normal
alphanumeric characters such as ABC and 123) while others do not have a
corresponding key on the keyboard. For these characters you should enter the
ASCII value of the character surrounded by angle brackets. For example,
ASCII character 250 would be entered as <250>.

Many of the control codes DPSpool uses are the same ones used by WordPerfect
4.2 and later. Additional codes have also been added if there were no
corresponding codes already in the WP4.2 file format specification. Thus if
you attempt to open a file meant for DPSpool with WordPerfect, WP will
correctly handle the codes it recognizes and it should simply ignore the
others.
