Dear all
I have a serious problem with the SHIFT-F7 key command when running DP
on newer WIN-XP systems.:
* I can run DP either as stand alone or under SHELL. I can also
navigate around in the panels. The big problem is that I cannot use the
SHFT-F7 key combination for accessing the reports. If I do this, I
instead get a character in the field I am located in, either a line
drawing character or something else. I can use the F7 and also the
ALT-F7 but not SHIFT-F7.
* If, on the same system, I go into WP, I get excatly the same
character when pressing SHFT-F7 (but can again use pure F7 and the other
F7 combinations). At least on the system I am wriging on here, the
character is the "Dos linedrawing upper right corner" character
* This problem occurs almost always when I now install DP on a
newer XP system. On two older systems, installed around 2003-2005 this
problem does not occur.
* I have tried having both my Danish keyboard active or the US one
but to no avail.
* I have also manipulated a lot in the setting menu for the
shortcut that starts the DP (or SHELL) exe (screen, memory etc). On one
2005 vintage system, where I also had the problem, one such setting
change seemed to work - and I wrote it down,, but this does not work on
my newer ones.
* The problem occurs both if I start DP with a shortcut or if I go
to the command line window ("dos") and start DP from the command line.
* What can be the cause of the problem and is there a work around.
It seems that the system, when in DP or WP, intercepts/interprets the
SHFT-F7 command as something else. Again, even if I remove the Danish
keyboard option and run pure UK/US keyboard, the problem is the same.
Any solutions? I'd be obliged! This forces me to use my old PC as the
only one for DP which is exasperating
