All now working:

DataPerfect running under DOSBox with the DOSShell front end runs as
expected and the WordPerfect 9 opening a DP file in a macro problem was
down to a combination of Windows 7 folder security settings and that
recording the macro hadn't inserted the Format type into the FileOpen
command; changing the offending line of the macro from:

FileOpen(FileName:"C:\dp23\rnhs_add.lbl")

to:

FileOpen(FileName:"C:\dp23\rnhs_add.lbl"; Format: WordPerfect_42!)

cured it.
