Check out the "dosbox" program. I got it to run DP in Window 7, 64 bit.

FWIW, I run DP2.6YI just fine in XP. I could not get it to run properly in
Win7. So I go back and forth between two machines. Not the ideal setup, but
it's working great.

As far as the best DOS environment under Windows: Windows XP - if necessary
run as a virtual machine under Vista or Windows 7
